Bombshell Poison

Back behind Poison Girl and Bombshell Tattoo on Westheimer, there's a parking lot whose walls just beg for tagging, and Houston's writers always seem to heed the call. There's just something about the red paint the owners use when rebuffing the walls every few months -- it's like a base coat, a color field in need of even more color. Here are a couple of flicks from 2004, right before the cycle began anew.

Circa 2004. Houston, Texas.

Give Up and Scatterbrain Collective

Here's another Give Up, circa 2004, coupled with one of those grenade microphones from Scatterbrain Collective.

To learn a little more about these and other players, check out this article I wrote for the Houston Press.

Post Number One

Let's call this Post Number One, because, well, that's what it is.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be posting various flicks of street art I've seen in Houston over the last couple of years, and after that it's up to y'all to start sending me your shit.

Let's do this, people.

Here's a classic from Give Up, circa 2004.
